Carrie Anderson, MA, NCC
Program Therapist
After having dealt with an eating disorder for many years, Carrie came to Selah for help. She states, “Selah is the first place I felt truly safe.” She was able to work through her eating disorder as well as a history of trauma. After gaining her life back from ED, Carrie went back to school to become a therapist with the desire to help others walking painful paths. She completed her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Indiana Wesleyan University in 2010.
Carrie’s call to the ministry of empathy, compassion, and love come from 2 Corinthians 1:3-4,
“All praise to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. He is the source of every mercy and the God who comforts us. He comforts us in all our troubles so that we can comfort others. When others are troubled, we will be able to give them the same comfort God has given us.” Carrie states, “When I was at Selah, I felt that comfort. It is real. God is real. For all of you who are struggling through the torment of an eating disorder, there truly is hope; there is freedom. I found that at Selah. It is now my desire to show others that freedom is not only possible; it is reality.
