Cost and Insurance Issues
Navigating the maze of insurance coverage and out-of-pocket expenses is anything but easy. It is our goal and commitment to bring transparency to a process that otherwise can seem quite unmanageable. We take the same approach of addressing individual needs during the admissions process as we do during treatment. As such, we will investigate numerous funding resources to help make treatment a reality.
Selah House will help you…

Dealing With Insurance Issues
• Talk to each facility you are considering specifically about coverages and out-of-pocket expenses. Remember that in-network facilities do not always result in less out-of-pocket expenses for treatment due to overall cost variations in daily rate, hidden expenses and so on.
• Keep good notes on what was said during any contacts you have with your insurance company and jot down the date and the first and last name of the person you talked to.
• Once you admit to Selah, you will be partnered with our Financial Administrator who will communicate with you regularly throughout the insurance porcess. We are here to help and strive to make the process manageable from beginning to end.
Admissions Process As intake Coordinator, I want to make this process as easy as possible for the patient and their families. Insurance companies have a way of making this complicated, and I am here to help. When prospective residents call me, we start with a prescreening and insurance check in order to determine what insurance benefits are available. You don’t have to make a commitment to Selah House in starting this process. We take care of making that initial phone call to get things started with a case manager at your insurance company as well as all of the follow up phone calls. We will keep you fully informed of the information that we are given, and if we need your assistance at any point in this process we will contact you. I will also schedule a comprehensive eating disorder assessment with our Intake Assessor to determine the level and duration of treatment that is needed. If a patient can do well in a lower level of care than what Selah offers, we will make appropriate referrals.I am always available for any questions you might have. ~Gayla
If you think you might have coverage, don't give up when the first person you talk to at your insurance company tells you no. The National Eating Disorders Association has some good information to review. Here are a couple of links that can help with this subject.
